| For information about guided walks on Whidbey, check out Whidbey Walks. There are hand made staffs and walking sticks from local wood for sale and Whidbey Walks Trail guides that are pocket sized, pictorial (they appeal to kids) and include private retreat centers, open to the public, as well as state and county run park trails. The guides are also printed in small quantity, and stay up to date as trail names and trail routes get changed. Founder, Elaine also sponsors the Saturday Walking Club, a group which explores trails on south, central and north Whidbey every Saturday from 1 to 3 pm, rain or shine. We have members from all over the island, and several of the Chambers of Commerce as well as the B&B's routinely send people my way when they are looking for a good trail, or have questions about trails on the island ,or might like to join a local hiking group. Elaine also sponsors bi-monthly off Island hikes which people enjoy as a group. And Elaines also sends out a newsletter every so often to keep people who have requested to be updated about trail issues on the Island. Let me know if you'd like to be included in that (I only put folks on my list who have asked to be) My phone number is 321-4950, and my website is: www.whidbeywalks.com, where you can get information about the Saturday club as well as other activities.
